Primary Objective: Responsible for providing technical expertise in executing day-to-day imports and exports, guidance on import and export laws and regulations, and support in maintaining and enhancing MTS’ compliance program to promote compliance with import and export laws and regulations worldwide. Support goals and objectives to preserve MTS’ import and export privileges and reputation as a global importer and exporter.  

 

Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Responsible for developing and providing guidance and support in any and all of the following areas related to export/import administration:
- Antiboycott/Restrictive Trade Practices - U.S. Customs Regulations - Import & Export Product Classification - Import & Export Product Valuation - Export, Re-export, and Deemed Export Controls - Foreign Sourcing - Licensing Requirements - Terms and Conditions - Contracts/Agreements - Sanctioned Party List Screening - Embargo Screening - Import & Export Documents - Country of Origin Import & Export Data & Recordkeeping Requirements - Free Trade Agreements / Special Trade Programs

2. Serves as an organization-wide technical resource supporting the resolution of import and export compliance issues.

3. Investigation and analysis and/or definition of corrective measures to remediate import and export compliance issues.

4. Participates in the development of global policies and procedures to ensure effective compliance to all applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

5. Participates in the development of global record retention system to ensure effective compliance to applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

6. Participates in the development of and conducts educations and training to ensure effective compliance to applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

7. Participates in the development of and conducts periodic monitoring to ensure effective compliance to applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

8. Provides support and performs assignments or special projects as directed by Global Trade Compliance Manager.

 

 

Qualifications:

4-year degree in business, supply chain or related technical field

5-6 years’ experience in trade compliance roles and with import / export responsibilities

Intermediate working knowledge of U.S. Import and U.S. Export laws and regulations

Demonstrated experience collaborating with internal business teams and external third-party supply chain providers

Demonstrated experience of keeping abreast of import and export requirements to advise business teams

Experience in problem solving

Self-starter and experience working with minimal supervision

 

 

Preferred:

U.S. Customs Brokers License
