Primary Objective: Drive outstanding customer satisfaction within assigned customer base / technical discipline(s). Maximize sales volume by providing technical support and velocity to sales opportunities. Manage all aspects of assigned Service Orders from point of sale to shipment. Serve as the technical expert/resource on customer applications within assigned area(s), enhancing MTS’ technical credibility.


Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Presale--Provides pre-sale support for service sales, global order takers and service applications engineers.
a) Works with local team to provide technical support, evaluate scope and urgency prior to quotation.
b) Gathers information to thoroughly understand the customer’s technical requirements, specifications and needs.
c) Evaluates technical content and provides recommendations regarding cost and risk of pursuit.
d) Understands customer’s use of legacy equipment in their unique environment and partners with the customer / cross functional team to develop proposals and quotations that achieve the customers and MTS’s business goals.
e) Understands past MTS practices and uses that knowledge to develop sustainability proposals that enable the customer to prolong the life of obsolete / discontinued equipment where appropriate
f) Provides prioritization to purchasing and planning resources to streamline quote process.

2. Order confirmation--Upon receipt of service order, confirms all aspects of the order as outlined in the quotation and other materials submitted with the sales order.
a) Reviews and acknowledges customer purchase order recommending revisions if appropriate.
b) Verifies order content for completeness and recommends revisions if appropriate.
c) Reviews "Acceptance" test protocol and recommends revisions if appropriate.

3. Project definition--Defines the scope of work and determines the needed to support the tasks.
a) Plans and establishes timetables, work schedules, and budget for entire service order.
b) Sets and communicates goals and objectives to those involved in order execution.

4. Manufacturing and purchasing process--Oversees the service order during the procurement manufacturing phase.
a) Monitors progress of the manufacturing cycle and takes corrective action to maintain established schedules and meet the customer requested ship date.
b) Works directly with the customer to communicate service order updates and timelines acting as the customer’s single point of contact when appropriate.
c) Provides technical assistance for the integration technician and technical writing support staff.
d) Inventories parts and materials, prepares shipping documentation, and initiates invoicing when appropriate.

5. Other-- a) Performs other duties as assigned.
b) Provides technical input to the team's yearly business plan.
c) Trains and mentors lower ranking Project Engineers.



BS degree in Engineering with 3 years of professional engineering experience or AA (vo-tech) degree in a technical field with 7 years relevant technical experience or 11 years relevant technical experience.

Ability to travel up to 25%, domestic and international.
