Reporting into our office in Guildford (Surrey) but working remotely in the Midlands area, we are looking with immediate effect for a



Contract program manager & Experienced Field Service Engineer (m/f)


 to look after our prestigious customers in the automotive industry and materials testing environments.


The role of the Contract program manager / experienced  Field Service Engineer  is to provide electro - mechanical competency in technical and independent consulting with on site service and customer support while ensuring optimal employment of the MTS equipment and systems.

You will mainly be operating in UK and Ireland but predominantly on one customer site in the Midlands area

Your main challenges consist of:


  • Program Management of a prestigious on site contract
  • Working onsite with one customer but able to assist other selected customers as required
  • Principal contact at the customer site for engineering requests and operational questions & issues relating to MTS  rigs and test equipment
  • Solving ticketed problems and repairing all types of MTS equipment on site and in plant
  • Installing and providing planned maintenance of MTS systems
  • Utilising additional Field Service Engineer resource as required.
  • Maintaining costs within budget
  • Training customers on site
  • Assisting and performing rebuilds and rework of MTS equipment
  • Providing customer visits as assigned by service administration as required
  • Performing Force and displacement calibrations of MTS equipment to UKAS accreditation
  • Preparing visit reports, installation and service reports, travel expense reports and  time sheets
  • Independent responsibility for materials (documentation, etc.) necessary to perform customer order in a satisfactory and appropriate manner
  • Supporting Sales and Operations departments
  • Spare parts management
  • Insuring compliance with quality system, health and workplace safety regulations, legal regulations, CE requirements and norms and internal, technical guidelines to prevent health and financial risk
  • Tracking product modifications and technical changes to MTS equipment.


Your qualifications and qualities that you need to demonstrate to be  a Senior  Field Service Engineer and Program Manager  at MTS:

  • Degree or similar qualification in mechanical engineering and
  • 5 years Experience in customer support and field service
  • Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Expertise in material science
  • Knowledge and understanding of electro-mechanical systems
  • Electrical knowledge would be an advantage
  • Excellent English – written and spoken
  • PC skills (MS-Office / Networking /database / CRM / Application s/w )
  • Clean driving license
  • Willingness to travel
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to work independently
  • An excellent team player as you are working together in an interdisciplinary manner
