Primary Objective:

Support the strategic goals and objectives of the Office of Risk and Compliance (ORC).  Execute compliance activities including programs such as Anti-Bribery, Privacy and Data Protection, Conflict Minerals, and Global Trade.  Assess relevant compliance risks, develop, rollout and track completion of compliance trainings, create and maintain policies and procedures, monitor relevant compliance controls, and track progress and support the business in remediation efforts.  Serve as a trusted partner to peers across the business in support of these compliance activities. 

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  1. Partner with legal counsel and businesses to perform corporate compliance risk assessments.  Partner with ORC team to ensure results of compliance work is integrated within MTS’s ongoing compliance risk assessment.  Develop communications to share compliance risk assessment results to managers and leaders. 
  2. Develop and implement compliance trainings across all offices worldwide or specific to a job function, to support awareness and understanding of MTS’ Corporate Compliance Programs and relevant policies and procedures.
  3. Develop compliance communications to build awareness of corporate compliance expectations, leveraging existing MTS communication channels where appropriate.
  4. Develops and maintains compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated across the organization and posted on all necessary sites for accessibility to all employees worldwide.
  5. Perform testing activities for ORC’s Quarterly Compliance Monitoring Program. Identify and test key controls to evaluate design and effectiveness.  Summarize findings in executive level reports.  Use monitoring results to identify remediation requirements and to propose compliance program enhancements.
  6. Develops and implements processes to further enhance existing Corporate Compliance Programs while leveraging technology where available.
  7. Partner and interface in day-to-day compliance matters with internal business teams and external parties for MTS, including Legal, Finance, IT, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, and Global Trade Compliance, as needs arise.
  8. Provide support to managers in the Office of Risk and Compliance and complete other compliance activities, projects or assignments as directed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, International Business, or related fields
  • 5 years’ experience
  • Strong communication skills to support program needs with business leaders and teams.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic global team environment, across all areas of middle management, including the ability to recognize and gather input from key stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of compliance programs, ability to understand legal requirements, and working understanding of business processes.
  • Ability to focus on operational details during execution, while thinking globally about employee impact and process improvement needs.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence internal and external partners and build relationships across all MTS offices worldwide.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Law, International Business, Business Administration or Finance
  • Legal and Compliance experience in researching and implementing processes in support of laws and regulations (i.e. paralegal, lawyer, or experience in a role involving compliance programs or regulatory responsibilities).
  • Experience with risk or internal audit monitoring.
  • Experience in Corporate Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance.
