Primary Objective:
Define the strategy, lead the implementation and execution of the security program, including: external and internal attack detection and prevention, authorization of security policies, security education and awareness, virus protection, web and email scanning and filtering, intellectual property protection, scorecards and service levels, regulatory, compliance and data privacy controls and policies. Manage direct reports and 3rd party managed services.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Responsible for defining the strategic roadmap for the security program, including the negotiation and selection of security solutions and their implementation.
2. Lead and direct the mitigation of internal or external attacks, incidents, resolve vulnerabilities and audit findings. Partner with IT Infrastructure and development Services areas for deployment, patching and vulnerability mitigation and audit response.
3. Create and maintain the security architecture design, including hardware, software, and third-party solutions.
4. Develop security policies.
5. Develop and execute security awareness and education programs to ensure consistently high levels of compliance with enterprise security documents.
6. Define cloud and 3rd party security policy and oversight requirements as part of the security services strategy and framework.
7. Interface with leadership in the IT Infrastructure and development Services areas, in addition to business executive leadership, to both share the security vision and to gain buy-in of security programs.
8. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through workstations, servers, and other systems and in databases and other data repositories. Support and negotiate with the various work council’s and the European Data Protection officers.
9. Supervise all investigations into problematic activity and provide on-going communication with senior management and the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
10. Collaborate with others in IT and external vendors on service-related issues and processes.
11. Report to Executive Committee and on occasion to the Board of Directors providing a status overview of the security program.
12. Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned managers and employees. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet departmental needs and implements plans to satisfy those requirements. Directs outside consultation activities as required to meet project needs.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience (8 years).

Experience
• 7 years of experience in security program leadership

Certification
One of the following certifications:
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification
• GIAC Security Leadership Certification
• ISACA Certified Information Security Manager
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Security
• (ISC)2 SCCP
• (ISC)2 CISSP
• (ISC)2 ISSAP

Travel Requirements:
• Expected travel averaging less than 25%, domestic and international.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education
• Graduate degree in cybersecurity or related field

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise security architecture design, documentation, and employee security awareness training.
  • Experience with evaluating, contracting and deploying a variety of security technologies that include: End-Point, privileged account protection, web and email filtering, malware management, MFA and MDM, SOC managed services contracting and oversight, SEIM administration, advanced protection and detection systems.
  • 5 or more years in a managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated focus on and delivery of cost-effective solutions. 
  • Prior history of defining global security strategies and road maps, that facilitate NIST, CMMC, GDPR, ITAR conformance.
