Primary Objective:
Provide overall accounting support and financial assistance to the Test and Simulation accounting processes and related business activities.


Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Actively participate in the month-end Service contract revenue close process, including scheduling and processing of revenue recognition programs, preparation and recording of journal entries, performance and analysis of SOX controls, and resolution of discrepancies. Apply knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the timing of revenue recognition and cost of sales, work in process inventory, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables as it relates to Service contracts.

2. Reconcile various balance sheet accounts related to Accounts Payable and Inter-company. Identify and resolve discrepancies related to these accounts.

3. Participates in or initiates assignments to improve processes and/or quality in areas where the employee has basic, intermediate, or advanced familiarity.

4. Utilize an understanding of the business, its products, its styles, its operational systems, and organization structure to complete assigned financial responsibilities.

5. Support internal and external audits and reviews.

6. Assists Payroll Administrator with work processes and procedures for Payroll to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing and payment of multi-state payroll and related deposits under Company benefit plans (e.g., ESPP, RSP, 401K, United fund). Ensures compliance with Company policies, along with federal and state regulations.
• Support the Payroll Administrator in the execution of the North American payroll in a timely manner in accordance with Company policy.
• Ensures the execution of all Canadian payroll related procedures including input, output, and taxes, as well as working with the outsource service provider.
• Manages time reporting data including review and analysis of on-line time sheet submissions and correction of errors to ensure accurate labor distribution.
• Assists Payroll Administrator in timely regulatory filings, including federal and state income tax withholding returns for all U.S. locations.

7. Manages general accounting procedures for Payroll based transactions.
• Prepares journal entries for payroll transactions including correcting entries requiring judgment and interpretation
o Identifies and resolves discrepancies between payroll data and general ledger postings.
o Reconciles account balances to general ledger.
8. Perform other payroll, accounting or analysis projects or duties as requested.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

• 2+ years of accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced computer skills including MS Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Previous experience with ADP.
• Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and prioritize projects and job accountabilities.
• Customer focused, others-oriented team player.
• Desire to continuously grow within the company.
